The Killers - Mr. Brightside

Coming out of my cage
and i've been doing just fine
gotta be down 'cause i want it all
it started with a kiss
how did it end up like this?

Cloudy skies still overhanging my holidays... curses to the weatehrman! *raises finger and shakes fist*

new bike, new bike! =D

Today's top 5: dodgy war movies
  1. The Great Escape - what's so great? most of them die in the end anyway
  2. Saving Private Ryan - "Don't worry Ms. Ryan, we'll get your son back to make up for the 4 you lost, no matter how many other mothers lose their sons doing it."
  3. Rambo 3 - Stallone's ego and a bazooka against the whole russian army. no contest
  4. Hamburger Hill - If a bunch of American soldiers wanted a hamburger they'd go to a drive through instead of up a hill in Vietnam
  5. Casualties of War - the first casualties should have been Sean Penn and Michael J. Fox...

Garbage - When I Grow Up

don't take offence
can't make ammends
rip it all to shreds and let it go

You know you're incredibly bored when you resort to playing games on a ten year old console (namely a Sega Mega drive ^^). Yes, i know it's beyond sad but it beats watching my mum playing spider solitaire ey?

As another testament to my boredom i've decided to start a segment on every post called 'today's top 5..." where i list the top 5 things in ludicrous categories.

todays top 5: most annoying advertisements
  1. that sultana bran one with those cursed singing kids who are lip syncing
  2. australian pensioners insurance agency. comparing this ad to humour is like comparing... well, you know...
  3. pine o' clean ad. fact: annoying as hell
  4. nutri grain ad with the reporter guy getting clubbed (mildly amusing the first hundred or so times)
  5. sleepmaker ad with the old lady cheerleading. very disturbing...

Savage Garden - The Best Thing

Never want to fly, never want to leave
Never want to say what you mean to me
Never want to run, frightened to believe
You're the best thing about me

There is no word in the english language that even comes close to describing just how catastrophic last night was. This is a short list of what went wrong:
  • The music was crappy at the best of times and excruciatingly loud
  • The DJ may have had too much to drink or serious mental issues
  • My definition of 'food' was very different to what they were serving
  • I had no date
  • Stargazing was impossible because of cloud cover
  • Due to age restrictions, i couldn't even have alcohol to forget the aforementioned problems
  • The highlight of the evening was a pair of seagulls flying close to the ship

In conclusion, the cruise was an utter waste of both time and money.

Must go and mope now, cyaz!

Hilary Duff - Fly

In a moment everything can change
feel the wind on your shoulders.
For a minute, all the world can wait
let go of your yesterday...

Still flying (or is it sailing?) solo.
am i better off alone? probably not
serendipity? hope so

Train - Drops of Jupiter

Can you imagine no love, pride, deep fried chicken
your best friend always sticking up for you, even when i know you're wrong
Can you imagine no first dance, freeze dried romance, 5 hour phone conversations
the best soy latte that you ever had and me...?

Congratulations to year 12 for surviving 6 years at Sefton High (now synonymous with 'Baghdad') and will now move on to better things. Congratulations also to year 11 who have now moved up to the top of the heirarchy.

The final role call made me realise how close I was to finishing my 6 years at Sefton. It made me wonder how i could ever say goodbye to my friends without fighting back tears...

On a lighter note, the term is over and it is now time to partay! Cruise on Monday and i'm still on my own, but i don't care anymore. not going to let something like that spoil my night.

Utada Hikaru - First Love

ashita no imagoro ni wa (tomorrow, at this time)
anata wa doko ni iru n' darou (where will you be?)
dare wo omotte 'ru n' darou (who will you be thinking about?)

Happy birthday to Phoebe, Mai and me! 23rd of September is such a sweet day ain't it? =P
The gifts this year were composed of a million and one "happy birthday's" and an army of people issuing the traditional birthday punches. althoguh i continue to complain about the materialistic and superficial society we live in, some material gifts would have been nice. but it's the thought that counts right? Who am i kidding, i want money!

cruise status: dateless
holiday status: one day to go...

Lotel - Angel

but everybody knows it ain't no secret what happens
when an angel flies a little too close to the sun...

half hour walk home today because the confounded bus decides it wants to terminate about 2 kilometres away from my house. grrrrr... may a locus swarm rip the Westbus depot to pieces!

Crossroads... what a fantastic waste of a day. Today's topic of discussion: stress and how to cope with it. This knowledge may have been useful about 2 weeks ago BEFORE we did our preliminary exams... what the hell, no class for one day, it's all good. =D

p.s. let's see how many of my 'friends' remember that it's my birthday tomorrow

Cruise status: still dateless (and now desperate)
Holiday status: 2 days to go

Plummet - Damaged

dreaming comes so easily
'cause it's all that i've known
true love is a fairy tale
i'm damaged, so how would i know?

Holiday countdown: 3 days to go

Have you ever imagined something for soo long that you forget that it's not real? Actions speak louder than words, but i'm afraid to even put my thoughts into words. There are more questions than there are answers and perhaps it's time for me to shoot first and ask questions later...

Blink 182 - The Rock Show

and if i ever got another chance
i'd still ask her to dance
because she kept me waiting...

2 weeks of exams + debating excursion = 17 days straight without timetabled classes (p.s. not celebrating with champagne this time)

Hmmm... just realised, i had a jap speaking exam today which was apparently canceled due to my timely absence. Woohoo! You guys owe me =P

Holiday countdown: 4 days to go...

Fly to the Sky - I Want

i don't wanna see you no more
i don't wanna love you anymore

head...hurts...
I probably deserve whatever I get from my extended post exam celebrations; migraines, stomach cramps, locus swarms (mathematical and/or insect variety), blindness, etc. (too much champagne does that kind of thing to you).

Hypothetical: I ask someone out and get rejected. Is it then alright to go and ask one of her friends out? (this is also giving me a massive headache)

Dashboard Confessional - Vindicated

i am vindicated, i am selfish, i am wrong, i am right, i swear i'm right, swear i knew it all along

Final exam, some haphazard driving and people talking to pigeons. It was all happening today. First of all, the proverbial light at the end of the tunnel mentioned yesterday was indeed proverbial daylight and not proverbial traffic. After the exam, (William, Julie, Annette and your's truly) were loitering the school grounds as we waited for our rides home. Then Annette sees a pigeon and starts coo-ing at it. "Fine, ignore me then. Stupid pigeon!" The poor thing, it looked so confuzzled. =P

All exams are over, pressures off and it's time to chillax. I should be over the moon, so why am i feeling so despondent?

Natasha Bedingfield - These Words

these words are my own, from my heart flow
i love you, i love you, i love you, i love you

I can see the light at the end of the tunnel! Although from experience, i should make sure it's daylight and not the headlights of an oncoming truck before celebrating. Only chemistry practical exam stands between me and freedom. Still deciding whether or not i should go mix some nitro-glycerin with sodium *evil laughter* (for all non-chem pplz, nitro-glycerin+sodium=KABOOM! =D)

Still dateless for upcoming cruise =(
