The point is that you forgive first and then wipe it from your memory which should be proof that you forgive the person.
Unless of course you have serious amnesia or it wasnt that important in the first place.

Hahah! Jasmine said the same thing to me yesterday. We came to the conclusion that the phrase should be changed to 'forgive THEN forget'.
