Birthday Party

Here's the deal - turning eighteen on the very last day of school I'll ever have to attend (great farewell gift. Thanks alot, Sefton). To celebrate, I'm co-hosting a party with Mary and maybe Phoebe (who happens to be turning eighteen on the same day). The hall we're hiring takes about 200 people, so you're all invited (as far as I know). But, we're having minor problems with picking the food and the music. Any suggestions/requests?

  • woah alan, you were born on one happenin' day! haha XD I must wish you a very happy birthday indeed! as for the party, a mix of music would appeal to everyone right, although it's probably safe to assume that our grade mostly likes rnb and rock. OH wait, many do like dance/trance...o.O have fun planning =D

  • You know what, I've had just about enough of rnb at parties. I say more rock and jpop!

  • Alan if the night consists only of your suggested songs, I will hurt myself lol. Like Cyddles said, keep the typical party stuff that's dancable. A nice mix is good. Liam has offered to put in the alternate music, he's got good taste with that. Anthony has mixes of top 40 songs, so they'll b really good too. As for classics, the 80's are a must! Either way, Prancers are performing! Mind if I play a leb song or two?

  • normally my musical advice is not taken seriously, but...
    - get some chili peppers. it's funky rock (so you can dance to it) and everyone loves it
    - michael jackson is always good
    - the darkness- i believe in a thing called love (dance/try to sing/air guitar...)

  • mary: knock yourself out with the lebbo music, I'm all for multuculturalism. Do we have to have rnb?
    anon: sounds like a plan
thuy: there's a KFC within walking distance from the venue and chocolate is automatically selected as food for any party

  • Oh god! This is a travesty! Please not the RnB! As it is every sefton dance party has gay ass music, allow us just one party where there is music that doesnt suck. I am at a loss for words right now, none would explain the severe injustices if a majority of RnB was present.

  • Actually, on second thoughts I'm going to be aware that everyone is entitled to listen to whatever style of music they want, no matter how bad it is. However this doesnt mean that I will put up with it tho, I will do what every unsociable human being does and turn my mp3 up REAL LOUD.

  • That's the spirit! If worse comes to worse, there's always the alcohol (assuming your 18).

Alan (too lazy to log in)

  • Make sure you bring some ID along. Good to see I've got somebody to get smashed with.

  • Alan, when's your birthday? Glad to hear that you're graduating soon?? Haha.. Hope to see you in SG..

  • If all goes according to plan, i should be in sg about new year. My b'day is 2 days before yours. =)

  • Just a bit of a nit-pick: "worse comes to worse" means that everything stays the same. "Worse comes to worst," on the other hand, means the shiznatisban has really hit the fan!

  • thanks for that grammatical correction. i can always trust you to be the grammar nazi.
