Happiness is laughing at doctors. I went to the GP so that I could get my vacinnation and after asking if: 1. Everything was alright at home 2. Everything was alright at class 3. Everything was alright with friends 4. Everything was alright with work She noted that Im not depressed. The whole procedure took less then 5 minutes (not including the 37 minutes in the waiting room despite having an appointment) and my question is that while Im not depressed - is 5 minutes and very general questions really enough to gauge if someone is depressed?
I had to wait an hour at the doctor's last time, also with an appointment. They should employ psychologists to gauge whether or not you're depressed while waiting for the doctor.
But the results would be slightly bias wouldnt you say? I mean surely theres something wrong with us if were willing to wait for that long to be told "youre unwell; go to the pharmacy and take these tablets." As often as I can I cut out the (in this case) middlewoman unless I need a medical certificate or antibiotics. If everyone done this then people would see their doctor when their appointment was.
There is no depression thats the point - but how is the doctor to know that? I dont know her, why would I open up to her; especially as she is only skimming the surface asking the very basic questions?
Some people find it less confronting to open up to people they don't know very well. But your doctor really should mind her own business and do what she's being paid to do. These little depression assessments are probably why you had to spend so much time in the waiting room.
Im all for opening up to strangers - it is the reason why I am relieved when telemarkers call. To be so annonymous the only way that you can be recognised is by a voice and telephone number.
wakarimasen is "i don't understand" in japanese. I'll get around to putting up a new blog post as soon as I get these pesky assignments out of the way.

And then, from hour to hour, we rot and rot;
And thereby hangs a taleā¦'

Quite the contrary. I think people are much happier not knowing what's out there but knowing what's in here *taps head*.
